Team in the terminal

Split one task across several agent CLIs - Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Kimi and the rest - each working in its own terminal pane.

When you would want it

You already pay for more than one of these, and they are good at different things. Running them one after another wastes the ones that are idle; running them by hand means writing the same briefing four times and watching four panes to see who has finished.

What you get out of it

  • The CLIs you already pay for stop taking turns. Claude Code can write the change while Codex writes the tests and Kimi writes the docs.
  • Each agent is briefed once, by ADCode, with the acceptance criteria and what its teammates finished - not by you, four times, in four panes.
  • Work only starts when its dependencies are done, so the tester never reviews a half-written change.
  • Closing one terminal fails only that task. The others keep going.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Open a terminal in ADCode, right-click anywhere in it, and choose Start a Team here.
  2. Describe the whole task in one sentence - the same way you would brief one assistant.
  3. Name the CLIs you want, separated by commas, in the order they should take Build, Tests, Docs and Review. Two is a team; four is the maximum.
  4. Read the line-up and confirm. Nothing has started until you do.
  5. ADCode opens a terminal for each CLI, starts it, and gives it its own part of the task plus whatever its teammates have already finished.
  6. Watch them work. A task that depends on another one waits until that one reports it is done.
  7. To stop early, right-click any terminal and choose Stop the running Team. The terminals stay open so you can read what happened.

Why this beats the usual way

Multi-agent tools normally mean one vendor's agents, on one vendor's subscription, in a web app that cannot touch your working tree.
